Trane Revenue, Earnings and Cash-Flow Trends
Trane Technologies’ exact GAAP revenue rose across the three years reported in its 2024 Form 10-K. These are consolidated-company results in USD millions, not Trane-brand-only sales.
| Fiscal year | Net revenue | Measurement scope |
|---|---|---|
| 2022 | $15,991.7 million | Consolidated GAAP |
| 2023 | $17,677.6 million | Consolidated GAAP |
| 2024 | $19,838.2 million | Consolidated GAAP |

The 2024 revenue mix included $13,314.5 million of product revenue and $6,523.7 million of service revenue. The same filing reported $3,500.1 million of operating income, $2,614.2 million of earnings from continuing operations, and $2,567.9 million of net earnings attributable to Trane Technologies in 2024.
The 2024 GAAP diluted EPS figures were $11.35 from continuing operations and $11.24 including discontinued operations, both for ordinary shareholders. The sustainability report separately presents a rounded historical series of $12.5 billion in 2020, $14.1 billion in 2021, $16.0 billion in 2022 and $17.7 billion in 2023, plus an estimate of 12% organic revenue growth and 24% adjusted continuing EPS growth in 2024.

Trane Segments, Geography and Revenue Streams
The 2024 Form 10-K reports three geographic segments. The Americas dominated the company’s reported revenue, while EMEA and Asia Pacific supplied the remaining regional amounts.
| 2024 segment | Revenue | Geography |
|---|---|---|
| Americas | $15,903.2 million | North and Latin America |
| EMEA | $2,556.7 million | Europe, Middle East and Africa |
| Asia Pacific | $1,378.3 million | Asia Pacific |

The sustainability report gives the corresponding rounded mix as 80% Americas, 13% EMEA and 7% Asia of 2024 revenue. It also describes the revenue stream as 67% equipment and 33% services, providing a useful distinction between equipment activity and recurring or related service activity.
These percentages are company-reported mix measures and are not a separate market-share estimate for residential air conditioning. The geographic percentages are rounded, whereas the segment dollar amounts above are exact reported figures in millions.

Trane Bookings, Backlog and Capital Deployment
Bookings and backlog describe demand and contracted work differently from recognized revenue. In 2024, Trane Technologies reported $20.3 billion in bookings, with an estimated 11% organic increase and a company-reported 102% book-to-bill ratio.
At December 31, 2024, backlog stood at $6.75 billion. The company reported that this was 3% lower than in 2023 but 133% higher than in 2020, so the year-end measure combines a modest year-over-year decline with substantial growth across the longer comparison period.
The company reported $2.6 billion of balanced capital deployment in 2024, including dividends, repurchases, acquisitions and capital expenditures. From 2020 through 2024, cumulative free cash flow reached $9.7 billion, while the company’s estimated average free-cash-flow conversion was 108%.
The sustainability report also shows 286% five-year total shareholder return through 2024 on the company index shown. That historical index performance is not a forecast or guarantee.

Trane Workforce and Participation Data
Trane Technologies reported a global workforce spanning salaried and hourly employees in 2024. The report uses rounded language for some workforce totals, so the categories should not be added to produce an exact headcount.
- The company had more than 23,000 full-time salaried team members globally in 2024.
- The company had 21,000 full-time hourly team members globally in 2024.
- Employees worked across 61 countries in 2024.
- Manufacturing and assembly operations ran at 45 sites worldwide in 2024; this count covers those site types only.
- Key-talent retention was 98% in 2024, using the company-defined key-talent population.
- Company-wide voluntary retention was 92% in 2024, using the company-defined voluntary-retention measure.

Employee engagement scored 82 out of 100 in 2024. This is an employee survey or index measure rather than a headcount statistic.
The Trane Technician Apprenticeship Program had 155 participants in 2024. That figure covers the named program and is not a count of all technician training.

Trane Sustainability and Emissions Statistics
The largest part of the reported carbon footprint comes from customer product use. Trane Technologies estimated that customer product-use emissions represented more than 98% of the enterprise value-chain carbon footprint in 2024, placing the operational and product-use metrics in different parts of the emissions profile.
Compared with the 2019 baseline, operational emissions were 44% lower in 2024 under the company’s defined operational-emissions scope. Product-use emissions per thermal ton were 17% lower, an intensity measure whose thermal-ton denominator is company-defined.
The company reported an estimate of 237 million metric tons of customer carbon emissions reduced since 2019. This is its Gigaton Challenge contribution, and the report says the calculation is reviewed and refined annually to include items that previously could not be measured; it should therefore be treated as a company estimate, not independently measured avoided emissions.
Absolute energy use was 3.2% lower than in 2019 despite increased production demand. Trane also reported $215 million in remanufactured-product revenue, 92,000 global volunteer hours and $20 million in philanthropic giving during 2024.

Trane Operations, Assets and Forward-Looking Measures
The sustainability report presents a longer operating and profitability view alongside 2024 results. Adjusted EBITDA rose from $1.9 billion in 2020 to $3.8 billion in 2024, and the company reported a 400-basis-point adjusted EBITDA margin expansion across 2020–2024; both are non-GAAP chart series with rounded presentation.
The company also reported $2.5 million of tuition support distributed to nearly 600 global team members in 2024. The recipient count is approximate because the report says “nearly 600.”
| Forward-looking measure | Target period and target | Scope or baseline |
|---|---|---|
| Operational emissions | 50% reduction | 2030, from 2019 baseline |
| Product-use emissions intensity | 55% reduction per thermal ton | 2030, from 2019 baseline |
| Gigaton Challenge | 1 billion metric tons CO2e reduced | 2030, customers globally |
| Embodied carbon | 40% reduction in products | 2030, products globally |

These 2030 figures are targets, not realized outcomes. The operational and product-use targets use the 2019 baseline, while the Gigaton Challenge is a cumulative customer-emissions target and its accounting is reviewed annually.
